What Is Shockwave Therapy?
As experts in the field of podiatry treatment and surgery, we are always looking for non-invasive, yet innovative, ways to treat your foot, heel and ankle pain.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is FDA approved and has been proven to treat and cure chronic foot pain, including plantar fasciitis, without exposing patients to known risks.
How Do Shockwaves Work?
So how does this noninvasive treatment work? A shockwave is produced by electromagnets generating a signal through water. The signal is directed through a lens to direct all of the energy to a single focal point. Using an ESWT device enables doctors to locate the focal point on a patient’s foot, allowing the energy to go directly to the damaged tissue.
What types of Foot & Ankle pain can be treated?
Shockwave Therapy has been successful at treating chronic tendon problems. This magnetic pulse delivers shock waves to the body to healp treat a variety of disorders, including Plantar Fasciitis and Tendonitis.
